True Story !
I was surprised with a backstage pass for this show by my boss in a record store! Sat in the bleachers with Kesey and Walton and extended family for the first set, then followed everyone downstairs to a wrestling locker room where food and drink was being served. Then, just before the break ended I spotted Jerry across the room talking to two little girls! Soo...I pulled out a fattie and strolled over to him and got him good and buzzed !

I was at this show, flyin'on MDA,it was such high energy.......after the first set,I went to the head and ran into gangs of crazed hippies bangin' on upside down gargage cans,wild...after the show I stumbled in to some clean-cut lookin'dude and he say's "hey, you dig that show?"
I mumbled sonthing,he goes, here.I say, wazzat?he say's,quarter gram of coke.I say, sweet.he half turns, says to these other dazed hippies, want some coke?they say, nah, but I go,I"ll take a 'nother ,he goes sure....anyway,me and my two buddies made three fat lines, and drove back to Seattle.....'bout the most fun ever
peace,

Great Show
My girlfriend and i had hitch-hiked from Portland the night before to get to this show. this was before the big boom in Deadheads of the early 80's and the Dead could still play smaller venues. When we arrived people were selling extra tickets for $5. The arena was like a high school gym and was only 2/3 full. The heat was almost unbearable, but the boys put on an epic show. Highlights include a smokin Scarlet _ Fire, awesome Other One - Stella blue and of course ken Kesey and the pranksters with the Thunder machine during drums. This is an overlooked show that not many people seem to have, and one of the best of the over 250 that I saw.

My memory of this show, The Other One intro.
My memory of this show centers on the deliciously long intro into The Other One out of the Drums, cluminating with Phil's thunderous buh-buh-Buh-BUH-BOOM! Many years later I had the fortune of speaking with Phil about this and mentioned to him how much I loved that moment and his part in that song, and he replied that he loved doing the buh-buh-Buh-BUH-BOOM too.

A thundering sweat sauna !
I remember perspiring heavily, from the moment I walked in, until the moment I walked out. However it was well worth it, since Kesey, Babbs, and The Thunder Machine were outrageous; not to mention, the ecstatic performance of the choosen, albeit very generic, list of songs !
